SUPER EASY Gift Ideas... Personalized Chalk Jars for All Occasions!

It all started with chalk jars decorated for the Holidays' and filled with goodies.  It has grown into much more.  Who knew you could make so many, super cute, crafty gifts out of simple mason or canning jars, paint and homemade goodies or a straw!

Begin by making your own chalk paint for easy use on most surfaces.  I prefer labels.  Just in case, I decide to use the jar for something else later.

     Super Easy Chalk Paint Recipe

Add 1 Tablespoon of unsanded grout to each cup of paint

Or for smaller amount, 1 teaspoon of unsanded grout to each 1/3 cup of paint

~ Note:  Latex paints work best.

Next, begin painting.  After painting a full sheet of large address labels with chalk paint, I began painting the lids with regular paint to coordinate or match the overall design.

Some jar lids are in two pieces for canning.  If so, simply use hot glue or clear tacky glue to hold in place securely.  However, if you are designing a drink jar with straw, it really helps to punch out your straw hole before you glue the little circle inside the lid.

Jar fillers and decorations are really only limited to your imagination.  You can fill them with homemade goodies, like cookies, brownies or ready to bake ingredients with the recipe attached.  Cute teen girl jar gift could include a long straw to use later for as a drinking glass and filled with all kinds of desktop goodies, like pencils, pens, markers, stickers, basically fun girl desk or writing stuff.  Another idea for spring, add vegetable seeds with your own personal gardening tips or helpful tips printed in a cute color and font from a free online source.  Make it into a cute herb plant or floral arrangement.  Seriously, I could go on all day.

Now you are ready to decorate your gift.  Add your colorful jar lids and/or labels.  Split a piece of chalk in half and tape it to the side.  Then simply decorate it to your heart's content.  You can add ribbon, stickers, flowers, dinosaurs, animals or just about anything small enough to fit on, in or on top of the jar.

Write your special message, name of the recipient or title on the chalk paint/label for an extra, special, personalized touch.

If super crafty, you may want to include a handmade gift card, hand written helpful tips, cut out printed message, etc.

So many fun, creative options for this super easy crafty gift!
